Update Warning

Post by baumgrenze »

A few minutes ago I shut down my SM windows because I got a warning saying that SM was trying to update but unable to do so.

About SM tells me I am running:

User agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 SeaMonkey/2.46
Build identifier: 20161213183751

The website suggests that 2.46 is current.

Am I missing some fine point?

thanks

2.46 is current.
Without actually checking, your Build ID seems right.
And presumably you're on the Release channel, so wouldn't know what kind of "update" was being touted to you?

SeaMonkey 2.48 is at a Beta 1 stage (& has been for some time now).
It's release, well is anyone's guess, but hopefully sooner then later :-).
(And then theoretically shortly followed by 2.49.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Thanks for the reassurance.

I will 'stay tuned.'

I was in a hurry. I should have sniped the message to Word.

An OLD Bug (that talks about that message) 583408 Notify user when the certificate attribute check fails, so I wonder if its not your antivirus sticking its head in somewhere where it does not belong.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Yup, Anti Virus sticking it's nose where it doesn't belong.
Disabled it, check for updates, no updates available.
Thanks therube!
