I guess there are several reasons to hope for the next iteration. Quack!

Or to figure out what you are doing to cause it to fail (unless there is something Mac specific in the mix).

If it works in Safe Mode, but does not work in normal mode with extensions removed, then probably not extension related.
So read through the (Safe Mode) list & see the other things that Safe Mode does.
Manually effect those changes, one at a time, in normal mode, & see if you can't get playback.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

I don't remember having the option to block tracking activity before.
When I installed SM on this new computer (HP ProDesk W7Pro) I selected that option.
I would rather not shut it off. Do you use that Preference item?

Confirm vladmir's post, but on Mac. The problem is with
SeaMonkey 2.46. I can play with no problem on Firefox
but am missing controls on SM 2.46 (play, pause, progress
bar), but it plays okay.

Probably only fix is to install 2.48b1 or an "unofficial" 2.49
beta.

Modern Theme has problems and the player is broken in 2.50 Should be fixed in 2.51 and 2.52. I am seeing some problems with it in 2.49 too. Need to check classic on OSX. Might also have problems. If it is so 2.48 and up might not help here.

Any page with a video out 999 trackers and ads which could be easily checked if the player is ok?

Maybe you could try:

Only more confusing. All three of test videos at the quirksmode link
play correctly for me.

Same here -- all three test videos work perfectly.

Well, yeah, they would. All 3 are HTML5 vids and the problem vid in the OP is a Flash vid using a pretty old version of CBS's usual player.

Flash problems aren't in my area, but usual perps are overlaying ads blocking content, needing Hardware Acc, enabled in Flash Settings and/or local, old versions of a site's Flash player playing up (JW Player, etc), Flash plugin needing to be 'Always Activate' even before going to the site and site coding detecting old/unsupported versions. That sort of thing. More than just one breaking site would have been useful.

Certainly, as soon as you know the stuff plays OK in SafeMode, then that does sort of rule out SM itself, I would have thought.

Unrelated, by while I think of it - Vimeo needs media.autoplay.enabled to true or their stuff just will not play. Took me a while to figure that one.

Anyway, good luck and happy testing. :)

"Another one..." refers to the earlier example.

Good to know and my fault for not searching your entire previous posting history first.

Well, that's good, now you have 2 sites to test your problem on. :P
