I have multiple Firefox devices synced, both desktop and mobile (Android). On desktop I use Addon Send tab to Device (https://addons.mozilla.org/cs/firefox/a ... to-device/) to send tabs / pages to Android devices. Sending tabs from Android to Desktop was formerly possible to do natively in the Firefox Android app without installing any addon (The Send tab to Device addon cannot be installed on Android).
After installing any newer Firefox Android version than 40.0 the "Send to Firefox" button is missing after clicking the Share icon, but all the other apps are still there.
What should I do to be able to send tabs from Android to desktop even on newer versions of Firefox?

Re: Firefox sync: Send to Firefox device is missing on Andro
I did a full wipe, installed Firefox version 47 app only and logged in to the Firefox Sync. As you can see on the screenshot the "Send to Firefox device" feature is still missing. Where is the problem?

Re: Firefox sync: Send to Firefox device is missing on Andro
Finally, I have found a solution!
The problem was that I had an old Firefox Sync Account (created <2014). At that time it wasn't necessary to create a user name for the account. E-mail address was used instead of username. Now it looks like it is mandatory because after logging in to my Firefox account: https://accounts.firefox.com/signin and adding the User Name (was empty), the "Send to other devices" button reapperead on all of my devices (after each of them was Synced)!

Re: Firefox sync: Send to Firefox device is missing on Andro
I'm having this same problem now, on Firefox for Android v51.0.3. Only I don't seem to have a User Name field:
I tried setting Display Name to 'nfriedly' and it appeared at the top there, but it didn't fix the Send to Firefox feature for me :/
Any Ideas?

Bug 1342881? (Although reports so far have been confined to Firefox 52 and up, so I'm not sure if it's really the same issue you're seeing)

Yea, it seems like it is the same issue. I tried manually setting an incorrect date and that made the option re-appear. I left a comment on the ticket stating that it seems to affect me on v51
I also asked about it at https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13811253 and grigory said they were working on a fix, and someone else linked to that ticket.

Apparently it was a server-side issue, so the Firefox version probably was a red herring.

Hi!
I don't have this feature. Is it still supposed to be there?
One thing: I have the automatic synchronization android setting in the accounts section disabled, because stupidly it's all or nothing. Either I have it enabled for e-mails, keep, etc (everything) and for all account or nothing... So I have it disabled, because mobile network data transfer here is either extremely expensive or extremely limited.

Hi avada,
I once again have the feature working on my phone (Firefox 53.0.2 now).
I suspect that you're right and that automatic synchronization is required to enable the feature.
