FF 54.0 How to remove mobile-bookmark?

Hello,

I would like to know if somebody knows how to remove this bookmark permanently?

After the latest update suddenly this new mobile-bookmark is added to the bookmark menu. So far bookmarks which were added but i didn't use or like could be easily removed, but not this one.

It can't be deleted and via about:config when i set the bookmark to 'false", it adjusts automatically back to "true", also after restarting FF...

Offcourse this is not an big issue, and it's nice that the developers add some new features every now and then, but it would also be nice that i can decide and control myself if i want this or not.

I'm no seeing that bookmark addition here. Specifically where are you finding the new entry?

If i click on the bookmark button(or perhaps it's called bookmark menu button?), next to the star, the bookmark menu opens and there it is situated under the bookmarkbar button and the other bookmarks button.

Still not finding it. Do you have Firefox synched with a Firefox Mobile installation?

Nope, i have it only synced with my old laptop with windows 7.

Just to be sure, i just updated FF on windows 7 to version 54.0 and the mobile-bookmarks bar has surfaced there aswell...

I could not make a screenshot, when i use the keyboard keys to do so the bookmarks menu dissapears and is not visible on the screenshot. So i did make a picture with my cellphone and uploaded this.

OK, I see where it is in your account but still don't have it in mine. Perhaps it's associated with Pocket (which I don't have installed) or some other extension you have on those machines.
Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Since it is part of the release, i doubt if i can move/remove it. It seems it was done on purpose...

I tried all the options, also disabled pocket permanently, but mobile-bookmarks is every time present in the bookmark menu.
As mentioned in my previous post, this is one of the new features of FF 54.0. I don't think it will be easy to disable or remove it.

You need to create the chrome folder in the profile folder if this folder doesn't exist and create a text file named userChrome.css in this folder.
The folder name 'chrome' and the file name userChrome.css are case sensitive.

I think both are good, but the add-on which madmudbob suggests is the easiest to apply.

The app seems to work for short time, but soon the mobile-bookmarks returns, just like when i try to disable the bookmark with about:config.



Is this a bug?
