Clearing download list cleared my downloads

I thought that clearing the downloads list would only clear the list and not actual downloads on my phone. It now says file not found when I click on them in my download folder. Is there anyway to retrieve those or view history from almost a year ago? I don't have it set to clear anything when I exit Firefox and I'm on an Android.

Huh that's weird...if you go to a file manager and open up /storage/emulated/0/Downloads, are there any files there?

So it seems from your other thread that the files appear to exist until you actually access them, at which point it says that the file cannot be found. Is that correct?

Clearing the files as well (provided they haven't been moved out of the download folder) when clearing downloads is (unfortunately, perhaps) the intended behaviour so far.

I personally have not seen that behavior. Then again, I do tend to move files I want out of the Downloads directory.

Huh I see. Interesting. Seems like something that really should be clarified when you clear Downloads for the first time.
