And gives me the option to reboot Thunderbird or to shutdown it.

And going to "AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Crash Reports\submitted" folder I found a txt with this crash report:

Code: Select all

Crash ID: bp-e2b8622a-65cb-4b3f-9ffe-a45ca0170625
Anyone know what its happened and how to solve it?

Nope. I suggest you submit the crash report if you didn't already. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Mozilla_Crash_Reporter

Did the problem occur shortly after a automated upgrade to 52.2.1? Then I suggest you see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Go_back_to_an ... hunderbird and go back to an older version temporarily (using your existing profile), until the next minor release is available.

I'm going to edit your post so that its doesn't scroll horizontally, and move it from Thunderbird Bugs to Thunderbird Support.

Actually I´m using 52.2.2.1 32 bits version, but I uninstalled and installed several times and its normally now the installed version is the latest.
I submited the crash report once and again when it appears.

In the past a similar thing happened to me when I used onto windows 7. Then I formated my pc and installed Windows 10 and the problem disappeared till now, some months later.

It's an Out-of-memory crash.
@ OOM | large | mozalloc_abort | mozalloc_handle_oom | moz_xmalloc | XPCConvert::JSData2Native
I see you have 9 crash reports.

Not a common at all, but has increased in version 52. Please file a a bug report from the crash report at "Bugzilla - Report this bug in Thunderbird"

Hi,

I tried some things like upgrade to 54.0b3 (32-bit), without succes. But at last, I select "Synchronize the 30 most recent days" in Synchronization and storage, and two days later still working. I don´t know why, but my PC have enough RAM (32GB) and storage (512GB SSD + 2TB+ 2TB), is memory really the problem?

Thanks

The crash report seems to state that you had plenty of memory, you just ran into a configuration specific bug while Thunderbird was requesting some of it. I suspect if you had doubled the amount of memory you had it would have had no effect since you had 22.39 GB of physical memory free and Thunderbird still had 499 MB of virtual memory available.

For clarification, 32 bit applications can only use 4GB at max. Depending on configuration even less.

Your last crash is https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/ ... ae50170626 with 54.0b3.

Have you changed something that caused you to no crash since the 26th?

But I´m not sure what it changes.

It reduces the amount of messages being downloaded. I can see how that might reduce the potential for crashing.
Have you reported this issue anywhere else??

We don't have 64bit Windows for release, and there is no ETA for having them

Only as Nightly (bleeding edge test builds) or 3rd party builds.
for example https://download-origin.cdn.mozilla.net ... taller.exe

http://kb.mozillazine.org/64_bit_builds mentions https://www.m64.info/ as having unofficial 64 bit builds of Thunderbird for Windows.

Is it safe to use unofficial builds in the same way as the official ones?

No. Its a calculated risk. Choosing a source who has been around a long time and frequently updates their web site helps. Sometimes its useful to use a web site such as http://www.easycounter.com/report/m64.info and http://www.easycounter.com/report/start64.com to see where most of the web site gets its traffic from, how long its been around, are most of the user reviews negative, and how much traffic it gets. Start64 for example seems safer than m64.info. Unfortunately Start64 stopped updating the x64 builds of Thunderbird about 4 years ago.

You'd be safer using a 64 bit daily build from Mozilla and accepting the risk of other bugs.
