Idem.

From previous thread:
Anleck wrote:Greetings - just started to have a look at the Nightly and Dev Editions again in preparation for the changes coming to addons and such. I must say general browsing seems to be very good. However while testing I have noticed drastically reduced perfomance in the old IE fishbowl test ( https://testdrive-archive.azurewebsites ... /FishBowl/ ).
Just wondering if anybody sees the same - worth worring about? Might this be expected to improve before release?
Could you be more specific? Which versions did you compare? With clean profiles? How many fish?

I did a comparison between 56 (56.0a1 (2017-06-30) (64-bit)) and 54 (54.0.1 (64-bit), with 1000 fish:

56: around 40 FPS
54: around 30 FPS

So I see a nice improvement instead.

In all of the version 55 betas I have a problem in some forums I use.
If I open a thread which may have a number of pages and click on a page number FF goes automatically to the last post on that page, all other versions of FF have always taken me to the first post on the page selected.
Is this by design or is it a bug?

Thanks for taking a look Arjen87

I sort of know what is happening now.
Made clean profiles and have the latest Nightly and Dev Zips (en-GB - that shouldn't matter). This issue/feature? presents itself in both the FishBowl and Mr. Potato Gun benchmarks.

https://testdrive-archive.azurewebsites ... fault.html
https://testdrive-archive.azurewebsites ... fault.html

If I let them run and don't do anything, performance is greatly reduced - FishBowl (auto) settles at best around 820 fish with a solid 60 fps - Mr. Potato Gun scores under 13,000 with a solid 60 fps.
If I do some rapid mouse wiggling while running them, performance lifts - FishBowl (auto) I got close to 1200 fish with a solid 60 fps - Mr. Potato Gun about 28,000, again with a solid 60 fps.

Decided to try this as the solid fps suggested an artificical cap on performance. I have not run cpu-z/gpu-z to confirm clocks yet but that would be my assumption at the moment.

For reference the current 54.0.1 (no wiggling) - FishBowl (auto) over 5000 fish with a solid 60 fps - Mr. Potato Gun over 40,000 with a solid 60 fps.

Don't know how fast I'd have to wiggle to achive parity with the current release - and probably would not want to be caught doing so [-( lol.

Edit: should have mentioned all versions used are x64

Using cpu-z/gpu-z it seems the CPU is not clocking up fully while runnng FishBowl.
With the extra load of monitoring, I grabbed a screenshot of Nightly at 950 fish (auto setting) only clocking the CPU at 1600-MHz. Release (54.0.1 x64) will happily run out to 5000 fish (auto setting) clocking the CPU up to its 3700-MHz limit.
The GPU remains at default clocks (1033-MHz) during all tests without boosting.

Just what I reported a while ago but no one here would help me file a bug report. Can we please do that now. I have no idea how it works.
