Hi all:
I have installed Firefox on a new device and wanted to sync my bookmarks. The sync seems to be succesful as when I hover over the "Sync" button in the menu it says "Last sync: 'Current Date and Time'". However, there are no bookmarks display in my Firefox. Unfortunately, my previous device is already gone and I cannot export the bookmarks from it anymore.
That being said, my bookmarks must be stored somewhere in the cloud and I wonder how I can recover them.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: Bookmarks not in Sync
Hi !
If bookmarks get lost then there might be a problem with the places.sqlite database file.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.

Re: Bookmarks not in Sync
Many thanks for your help. I have already checked the places.sqlite file and everything seems to be fine.
It seems that the Sync option somehow got confused and deleted all my bookmarks. I wonder whether there exists a backup of my Sync file on the Sync server and, if so, how I can get access to it.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: Bookmarks not in Sync
As I wrote earlier, my old laptop is gone and hence I cannot copy and transfer my Firefox profile anymore. I have also checked whether the problem is specific to my new laptop by installing Firefox on my phone and using Sync. My bookmarks are also not shown on my phone. This means that my Sync profile most have gotten deleted/overwritten somehow.
I wonder whether there exists a backup of my Sync profile from a week ago or so and, if so, how I can restore this old version.
Many thanks for your help!

Unless there's a way to get your old laptop back - I'm afraid those bookmarks are really gone.LuckyLuke1 wrote:As I wrote earlier, my old laptop is gone and hence I cannot copy and transfer my Firefox profile anymore.

All I'm hoping for right now is that somebody with better working braincells than mine, will come up with a brilliant solution .......
