Are many of you using English (en-US) builds of Thunderbird with some other regional date/time settings in the OS?

Then with next release you will be affected. The next en-US version will show you only americans date/time format.
If you want German or Russian date/time, you have to install German or Russian builds.

* German OS, OS date/time settings as default, with date format 03.04.2017 and time format 21:02.
* Install Thunderbird nightly in English (for Windows: ... taller.exe)

Actual result:
Date/time shows as 03/04/2017 9:02 PM
or even (depending on situation):
Date/time shows as 04/03/2017 9:02 PM

Expected result:
Date/time shows as 03.04.2017 21:02

* Unclear which position day and month are in, therefore unclear whether April 3 or March 4.
* Wrong separators
* Wrong 12h format

Feel free to comment here:

The developer, who made the change does not want to hear, that many non-English users are actually using Tb with English UI, but still wants to see the normal time/date format.

Having read the bug report it appears that the problem is a bit more serious than you indicate.

It looks like it is going to affect everyone that uses the en-US version but uses a different time & date arrangement eg: en-GB and en-AU where date is DD-MM-YYYY rather than the US MM-DD-YYYY.
