[SOLVED] How to uninstall Adobe Flash from Firefox in Linux

Post by ineuw »

Even though everything works well without Adobe Flash, recently, Mozilla reintroduced Adobe Flash in Firefox. How can I uninstall Flash from Linux altogether?

sudo apt-get purge adobe-flashplugin?

Although Kubuntu 16.04 kept pestering me to install it. I then dumped the distro's Firefox altogether and installed the version direct from Mozilla.

Thanks, actually I managed to find some installed components in Synaptic and uninstalled it from there, but it took awhile to find it. Cinnamon Mint has a very nice download system which can easily blacklist any download.

No version of Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX, or Linux from Mozilla has ever come with the NPAPI Flash Player Plugin from Adobe.

If you still have Flash Player installed on system you can type about:plugins in the Location (address) bar in Firefox to see where the Flash Player Plugin is located on your OS.

This about url is listed in about:about
