Adobe Flash Player and Firefox 54 for Linux

Post by robertdaleweir »

Is the 64Bit version 54 of Firefox (on the Linux Version) using any version of "Adobe Flash Player"? I have a Plugin called "Shockwave Flash". Is that Proprietary (Shockwave Flash) and is it the only thing used by Firefox to play Flash Content?

Shockwave Flash is the old name for Flash Player plugin from Adobe. https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

Adobe has been supporting Linux again with NPAPI version since mid December (with the same branches as Windows and Mac OSX) whether on 32-bit or 64-bit Linux.

I thank you for your reply. I guess I should have posted under another web site. Where should I post questions like mine in the future? Thanks again.

No need to post a question like this elsewhere.

Many websites have already been using the HTML5 player so as time goes on the Flash Player Plaugin from Adobe may be used less and less depending on what sites you use.
