It doesn't work for me. Does it works for you?
Yes, it works. I've just restored a session I saved in March 2017, Nightly 05-08-17, laetst SM beta from AMO. I use "Append to session", not "Replace Session" :-"
Unfortunately, it still didn't help, even with this setting :-"
looking in Browser Console, I'm seeing many errors and warnings like:
TypeError: aWindow.gBrowser.mTabs is undefined[Learn More] session_file_io.jsm:520:9
TypeError: tabs.mTabs is undefined[Learn More] session_file_io.jsm:418:69
etc.
but nothing to be surprised about, we are on Firefox 57 so XUL & XBL & XPCOM extensions are dead there or will be soon.
Just to add it, Session Manager was broken due to landing patch from Bug 1387009 - Remove deprecated tabbrowser methods and properties, which removed "mTabs" property.
Virtualfox persona
Tired of constant Firefox UI changes? XUL extensions are not working anymore? Try SeaMonkey, Waterfox Classic, Pale Moon.

The more I know about WebExtensions, the less I like them [-X
https://github.com/eoger/tabcenter-redux/issues/124
Tab was opened and showed up in Firefox tab bar, but not in the tabcenter sidebar
For the whole remaining session, new tabs are not visible in tabcenter, every other interaction works
@Virtual_ManPL I'll try to figure out why Session Manager still works in my case.
Sorry for my poor English.

pretty much known that WE was/is gonna be restricted to what they can do, perhaps thats why a lot have gone overf to Chrome, but it'll be interesting to see if Firefox survives, i dont need DTA but it made my life a bit easier. as long as there's a Adblocker around i tend not to care, havbing said that, it'll be interewsting to see what Ubuntu make default ( browser wise ) in 18.04

session manager is installable, but it has serious bugs, eg open settings, and the list of closed websites (button) is not usable.
i had an experiment with session buddy but either the api is not ready or complete incompatible.

but that was expected as long firefox 57 is not ready.
