how to increaase(slow) the delay of http redirection(js+dom)

Post by Michael REMY »

hi,

some website have crappy advert which open a new tab by using javascript or dom script : they are not a pop up kind so, they can't be block by seamonkey.

the first opened page was always a "satellite" page which redirect to another, then to another again...
it is so quick that i can't detect (read) the domain to block it in my config.

is there a way to configure seamonkey to slow down the delay of the http redirection ? maybe a parameter in the about:config ?

1 or 2 seconds would be please to make the url address bar readable before it changes.

Also, maybe there is a way to ask the user the permission each time to allow (or not) the redirection ?

thank for your help

Not sure if it is possible, but in similar situations I usually observe what happens in proxy logs, I use privoxy.

From your earlier thread, how to reset to NO, the autorisation of Popup window ?, maybe reduce what your remove from that Pref such that it works as needed, where you want, but at the same time blocks what you don't want to see.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

i already tried.

the tab opened by " dom.popup_allowed_events" are not considered by Mozilla team as Popup, so they won't be blocked by any "pop blocker" from Mozteam.
