Can not click on anything on the page

I have a problem with Thunderbird.

I can not click on anything to open it.

I can scroll list of emails and receive emails but I can not click on anything.

No buttons work either so I can not close it or minimise it.

I have no problems on web pages.

I tried uninstalling it but it is just the same.

I have rebooted comp a few times as well but just the same.

Not sure what web pages have to do with Thunderbird which is an email client and not a browser.

That said, does the same problem exist if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

I mentioned the web page to show it was only happening on Thunderbird.

Do you mean Firefox in safe mode?

If you do then yes if I open Firefox in safe mode nothing on Thunderbird works, the only thing I can do is scroll the page that is showing.

I cannot open emails, change between different email accounts and if I want to close it I have to use task manager to end process.

This only started happening yesterday, prior to that it was fine.

I have not downloaded any new software the only thing I have done but that was today was updated java.

Got it working now.

Had a play about and a security certificate box came up ...accepted it and now it is working.

No, I meant Thunderbird in Safe Mode, but that's academic now as you found the solution.
