For the past year I've used the following method to turn off all sound on Firefox.
1) In firefox url bar type about:config
2) search dom.audiochannel.mutedByDefault
3) double click on it to set if true
4) search dom.webaudio.enabled
5) double click on it to set it false
But after the recent update on Firefox, this no longer works.
How can I completely turn off all sound in Firefox?
Thanks

Windows Control panel > Sounds and Audio devices ... change the volume or disable audio devices ....works for me on WinXP

But I need to be able to selectively disable sound on individual Firefox profiles I have.
I have my main Firefox that I use daily, where I want sound to work.
But then I have about 20 other Firefox profiles, and on those I need to turn off the sounds and have it stay turned off.

Hi,
Just an idea here...
Have you tried opening each of those "20" Profiles & then opening the Mixer & muting each Profile in turn, as required?
Might work.
NB: It does work here with my Firefox versions.

(That's pretty neat. And works.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.
