I'll take a look, but I warn you if I see the word 'grippy' in it, I'm pressing the #back-button.frg wrote:This was in the works for some time and you might want to post further comments here:

This isn't in your Compatibility Table, but I sucessfully converted Tab to Window. So if you are still maintaining that table, it would be a good thing to add.

Re: Firefox & Thunderbird Add-on Converter for SeaMonkey
Although Self-Destruction Cookies will not convert well (according to the official table), there is an alternative that is built for SeaMonkey: Cookies Exterminator. (No need to convert!) It has the same functionality, maybe even a little more as it allows import/export of your whitelist & blacklist. There is a support thread, too, which is worth a look, especially at some recent posts regarding privacy, even if you don't end up installing the extension.
Hope this helps!
BTW, the author is committed to developing "legacy" extensions (though mainly for PM). Although I cannot speak for him, my impression is he might be persuaded to fork a specific extension that you want for SeaMonkey but cannot successfully convert from FF. He is a pretty nice guy and responsive to user feedback.Lemon Juice wrote:.Hardly anyone will want to write extensions only for SeaMonkey.

Re: Firefox & Thunderbird Add-on Converter for SeaMonkey
I tried running the converter on the Video DownloadHelper 6.3.1 plugin. I used the default converter settings.
The converter ran fine, and the install on SeaMonkey 2.40 ran fine.
However, the Video DownloadHelper icon never appeared (I tried restarting SeaMonkey twice), so there's nothing you can do with it.

I dumped VHD a while ago and never looked back. I'm now using NetVideoHunter on SM 2.46 and it's working well.

It appears that AMO Browsing for SeaMonkey has suddenly stopped working. I no longer see the links "Check if SeaMonkey version is available" or "Convert this add-on here".

I think the AMO developers have subtly altered their site, throwing wrenches (again) in this extension's cogs. Re: Firefox & Thunderbird Add-on Converter for SeaMonkey
Just add SeaMonkey Add-Ons search engine from Mycroft.... http://mycroftproject.com/search-engine ... =seamonkey
Hmmm @Guess Add to Search Bar no longer works.
Edit: Yes it does, uninstalled the version I had; ran the current Fx .xpi through the converter and it's working fine again.

Re: Firefox & Thunderbird Add-on Converter for SeaMonkey
I am on Mageia 6 Linux. SM 2.48.(FF 51.*) I downloaded and unzipped the h264ify file anyway. But the Monkey says the file is corrupted if I drag it onto an open window. The Converter says it cannot find and install.rdf file.
How do I otherwise install this add-on?
Thanks,
Chris.

Re: Firefox & Thunderbird Add-on Converter for SeaMonkey
You don't, not in SeaMonkey which doesn't use 'web extension' type extensions.Cuadro wrote:How do I otherwise install this add-on?
I'm guessing you haven't been using SeaMonkey very long?
Yes, that's because there isn't one.The Converter says it cannot find and install.rdf file.

Re: Firefox & Thunderbird Add-on Converter for SeaMonkey
You might try one of the older versions, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... /versions/ (assuming that they might not be webx ?) & see if they'll convert (& work in SeaMonkey)?
Fire 750, bring back 250.
