Some drop-down menus from Seamonkey interface show mangled text.
Seamonkey has just been installed, it has no addons except the Italian spellcheck dictionary.
I altered no settings except those exposed by the "Preferences" menu.
Screenshots taken after restart in safe mode.

Re: Drop-down menus show mangled text
Any change if you restart in Safe Mode?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: Drop-down menus show mangled text
Then as a test, create a new, clean Profile & see if the issue persists there.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: Drop-down menus show mangled text
Creating a new profile didn't work; With Seamonkey closed, I did:
then started Seamonkey, but the problem persists. I suspect this is a bug in GTK.
Code: Select all
mv .mozilla/seamonkey/ .mozilla/seamonkey_original

Re: Drop-down menus show mangled text
I'm seeing roughly similar behavior in SM 2.48 (latest from Ubuntuzilla) under XFCE (Debian 9.2 amd64) however it is not the same menus: My link context menu is fine and so is Tools, however my Help and File menus are both displaying the issue, as is my "Save as..." dialog box:
Resizing the dialog box "fixes" it.
Resizing the dialog box "fixes" it.

Re: Drop-down menus show mangled text
Does the same happen with SeaMonkey 2.49.1?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Re: Drop-down menus show mangled text
I have seen this happen with bad OS themes and bad graphics drivers under Linux. According to about:support hw acceleration is already blocked so I would check the OS theme.
