Critical Update

I had a new tab open .... all the usual FireFox logos it said Criotiaclka update - install now.

I didn't as the address seems suspect

Is this just an attempt at phising ? ... not seen it on FF before

If it was like image in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/i- ... fox-update then yes it is Fake.

Besides updates are done internally in Firefox or from on mozilla.org and never as a so called patch file, especially from a random website.

If it was the firefox-patch.js then it is not due to malware or such on Windows but due to Ads targeting some Windows users using Firefox. Yahoo pages have been a common place people have seen this.
