What does this mean?
It means that they're not going to run Stylo in chrome(UI) due to a regression. They'll turn it back on once they figure out the problem.

The containers has been renamed to Firefox Multi-Account Containers. Mine was v3.1 and it does not auto-update to 4.0.2.

I know the Gecko Profiler takes a lot of memory. You are running on boxes with just 2GB of memory, right? If so, I wonder if Firefox is running out of memory when the Gecko Profiler is symbolicating.

I'm familiar with Windows 7, so I don't know if the same tools have the same type of display for Windows 10. The Windows Task Manager can display the amount of real memory is being used with the "Performance" tab showing physical memory usage graph under the CPU usage graph. When the memory usage line hits the top, it indicates that all real memory in the machine is being used. Theoretically, when a lot of physical memory is being used, some memory will be swapped out to disk, into the paging file.

Likewise, the virtual memory can become full, but this is reflected in the paging file being fully used. The paging file percent usage can be found by launching the Performance Monitor, then add (the green +) Paging file, (it will have both current and peak usage), and then one can see if the paging file hits 100% usage.

If the paging file is radically used, you might want to increase the size of the paging file and set both minimum and maximum sizes the same so it won't deny Firefox virtual memory while the paging file expands. I think the maximum size the paging file can be is 3x real memory for Windows 7 and 4x real memory for Windows 10. (Don't quote me on that, but those seem to be fairly common quoted numbers.) If I adjust the size of the paging file, I will generally want to reboot after making the adjustment. (If you make it smaller, you will have to reboot to use the smaller size. You shouldn't have to if making it larger, but it doesn't hurt to reboot.)

In any case, by monitoring both physical memory usage and paging file usage when the Gecko Profiler is symbolcating, you should be able to see if it looks like the issues with the symbols in the profiles could be related to memory constraints or if you need to look elsewhere.

(Actually, I have no idea what the error messages you are getting indicate, but I do know that out-of-memory conditions, particularly when buried in other code, can produce some pretty odd errors that go away once memory is no longer constrained, and 2GB is a pretty small amount of memory for computers today.)

Hi
thanks for the detailed explanations
But do note two significant things
Also happens on 4gb version and windows uses 700mbon boot so that's more than enough & both have 25gb page files(just to check)
and sufficient page file should not cause any OOM errors, slow maybe but not errors.
Will try looking into your method and see.

Alice suggested to use builds 2days old,
tried and posted in bug if you could or someone else verify if it has symbols.

Yes it might be low for some but these are donation-boxes for school children used only for light work like office/presentation and firefox (under supervision)

I couldn't upload the profile once because I didn't enable scripts in uMatrix so maybe your profiles have no symbols because of an adblocker, antivirus, etc?

@Mark12547 & @GHM113

Installed profiler in stable and then installed nightly,
gave the same error but saw network activity and firefox changing text for things with names at top.

It worked twice.
