"Add to Firefox" colored gold?
On https://addons.mozilla.org/ I note that some of these buttons have a gold color rather than the usual green [ex. the button for Hover Nofollow]. What is the significance of the change in color? And where if at all is this explained in Fx documentation?

Are you asking about the gold background "Requires restart" indicator?
It's not in the Firefox documentation because it's a separate system/web site.

Re: "Add to Firefox" colored gold?
Dan, at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefo ... ng&page=12 I see that the Add to Firefox button for QLDP: QUAKE LIVE Demo Player, unlike most, is colored gold, not green. If that means that it requires a restart, as you suggest, that's the thrust of my concern, and I thank you. I'm baffled however why you say there's no documentation because it's a "separate sytem/web site." I've referenced only one website (https://addons.mozilla.org/).

This add-on has been marked as experimental by its developers (text under the "add to firefox" )

Correct, but that is not Firefox, even though it is a Mozilla site. Documentation on how things are labeled on AMO should reasonably be found on the AMO site, which doesn't seem to be happening.I'm baffled however why you say there's no documentation because it's a "separate sytem/web site." Yup, but there is a FAQ of sorts here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/faq
And I've just found you can arrange the add-ons alphabetically. Why would anyone want to arrange them by the most users???

There is "documentation", the developer's site is non existent, it hasn't been updated, nor any have there been any reviews for six years...consider it dead.Odin2 wrote:I'm baffled however why you say there's no documentation

Re: "Add to Firefox" colored gold?
Thanks very much, Happy112. The support.mozilla.org reference indicates that the color of the gold or yellow button reflects the extent of Mozilla's review and not the need to restart. That's certainly good to know, but it's troubling that Mozilla varies the button color in that way with no documentation beyond an obscure answer to a forum question.

Just to complicate things, the "Requires restart" indicator on the AMO page is white text on a gold background bar.The support.mozilla.org reference indicates that the color of the gold or yellow button reflects the extent of Mozilla's review and not the need to restart.

Thanks, Happy112. Seems like a useful hidden resource.
