Problem with one email address

I have two email addresses. I have just tried returning to Thunderbird and have set up one of my addresses but the other one keeps failing with a "configuration could not be varified" error message.

At one stage I managed to get the address to stick and some emails were downloaded but it then stopped. I removed it to start again but Thunderbird will just not let me configure this one address. I know I have all the details right and can see the emails in other email clients; just not Thunderbird. Has Thunderbird become flakey or is there a simple answer to this problem, please?

Who is the email provider for the problem account? It sounds as though Thunderbird could not find the data for appropriate settings in its database of providers.
