Restoring Search Plugins

Post by Breeze »

I made a new profile because FF just kept hanging.
Can someone please tell me how do I get all of my old search engines back?
I have them in my old profile.
Thank you!

Here's one not listed: www.wolframalpha.com a bit different from others, so they give you examples on the homepage. I access it through a bookmark.

I meant I usually use Wolfram separately because the search is highly specialized.

The search engine file is search.json.mozlz4

You could try copying it over from your old profile.

or

If you kept your old searchplugins folder in your old profile:

1. With FX closed, delete the following files from your profile folder:

search.json
search-metadata.json
search.sqlite
search.json.mozlz4

2. Copy the "searchplugins" folder to your profile folder.

3. Restart FX. A new "search.json.mozlz4" will be created with the search engines from the searchplugins folder. You can now delete the "searchplugins" folder if so desired.
