Thunderbird ver.52.3.0 (32-bit)

Post by ImCanadian »

I have a problem with this version of Thunderbird on my desktop which is running on the operating system of Windows 10 64X Professional and right now I am on version 1709 with OS Build 16296.0. I find that when I click the icon of Thunderbird on desktop or taskbar and have to wait at the most within 30 seconds or a little more before can access to my email message. Find this too slow to open the email on my desktop or taskbar. Is there a fix for that so I can open the email immediately instead of waiting for a few seconds before I can see my email on desktop to read. You will see the version of Thunderbird in Subject line. Thank you

Let me know about this.

I guess that I will uninstall this email service and use Windows Mail that will save me trouble for this stupid email. Unless someone have a answer for this to fix the problem.

You're welcome to use Windows Mail if you choose but that 30 second delay in launching Thunderbird is not normal performance.
What security software are you running on that system?
Is Thunderbird running as installed or did you add extensions after installation?
How is the account set up in Thunderbird, as POP or INAP?

See if http://kb.mozillazine.org/Performance_-_Thunderbird helps. The delays might be due to external software such as a McAfee anti-virus scanner or due to problems in the profile.

If none of that helps see http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=3006743 . Upgrading to 45.1. made a big difference for me, but I still occasionally ran into this "non-responsive" problem until version 52. It mainly occurred with the built-in editor, but a few times it occurred while I was just reading the folder listing. Supposedly this is a regression bug . See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=929281

I am using version 1703 build 15063.608 of Windows 10 Home x64. It looks like you're using the Redstone 3 preview from the Fast ring of the Windows Insider Program. I have no idea whether it might be causing a problem.

If you decide to abandon Thunderbird I suggest you try something like the free version of "em client" instead of the built-in Windows mail app (which is terrible IMHO). I use em client when troubleshooting whether Thunderbird or the mail server is to blame. The free version is limited to two accounts. http://www.emclient.com/
