Replacing extensions with Web Extensions (DN123ABC's own thread)

Post by DN123ABC »

If we have 56 RC5, and then stop automatic updates of the browser, will that let us freeze in time until the extensions we want are updated? Things are looking REALLY good right now on this version, other than uncertain future for extensions. For the ones we have, some need to be brought up to date, others are OK, and some need lots of help.

I think I'll back up my entire profile today, just in case.

You don't have a choice as to what's ported to WebExtensions and what isn't. And some can't be coded in WebExtensions. If you want to switch to v. 52ESR, you can keep all your extensions for almost another year, and by that time there will be more WebExtensions.

I think I've been hacked. I did not start this thread. Going to change passwords momentarily.

You hijacked another thread http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic ... &t=3033199 so it was splitted off.

WTF?

Someone actually did this to me on purpose? What the heck kind of place is this? That, and everything said above, except the part about being hacked, is relevant to "Replacing extensions with Web Extensions". You need to lighten up, Francis.

And you need to read the forum rules

from where it was splitted there have been answer before you hijacked it. instead spamming each thread now (incl the latest closed because very old) whith your questions it would be much nicer to have you look here
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/

here
https://mozilla.github.io/extension-finder/

and here
https://addons.mozilla.org/collections/ ... eplacement

i did same days ago to help out
what i can say you will lose half of your first list and 90 per cent of your second list ("dont care")

you should also consider to install a -monkey to use scripts for certain legacy extensions.

go amo, do some home work on your own and will probably get that experience too.
