Logically that couldn't be unless those seeing the problem had updated or otherwise changed Thunderbird between the time their accounts were working and the time they stopped working.

Yes, well, SOMEONE (Microsoft or Mozilla) has changed SOMETHING. My guess is that the guilty party is Microsoft. I suppose I will just keep Googling and maybe someday find another temporary answer.................

Thunderbird hasn't updated so something in MS has changed that's affecting 1 or my 3 outlook.com email accounts which were all working great using the Office 365 servers. And changing that email account back to the default IMAP settings for outlook.com doesn't solve this issue.

My email is having the same problem, and it's not just on thunderbird. My mobile mail isn't able to access my hotmail either.

Update, my outlook.com IMAP email account is working once again as of this morning. Don't know what changed but it's working once again. Glad it's working once again because I don't really like to use Outlook at home & the other email client I've been looking at are :(

Woohoo! Me too......

And I checked my 'Server Settings', in case this might help someone:
Server Name: imap-mail.outlook.com
Port: 993
Connection Security: SSL/TLS
Authentication Method: Normal password

Seems it may have been a Microsoft server side issue if nothing is different in Thunderbird from "not working" to "working."

Must of been & they sure took their sweet time to discover it & fix it.
