Firefox prevented page from redirecting to another page
In in FF52.4.0esr, I am getting the following message: Firefox prevented this page from redirecting to another page and must then hit the Allow button on the right side for Firefox to actually load. Any help in overcoming this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Firefox prevented page from redirecting to another page
Copy/paste into the location bar: about:preferences#advanced
Next, if it's not selected already, click the General button and then remove the checkmark from: "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page".

BTW, that option no longer exists in FF 56.0 -- https://superuser.com/questions/1255192 ... firefox-56Reflective wrote:Copy/paste into the location bar: about:preferences#advanced

In Firefox 56+ you will have to toggle accessibility.blockautorefresh on the about:config page to toggle this feature.

Reinstating the old prefs UI should fix that problem (hopefully): http://techdows.com/2017/09/disable-new ... ox-56.html

Reflective: thanks for the link. I have saved it for future reference. For the moment, I am using FF 52.4.0esr in order to keep my current extensions working as long as possible.
Ortho_Fan and dickvl: thanks for the info and link regarding the fact that the Redirect option no longer exists in FF 56.0. I've saved that link as well for future reference.

Re: Firefox prevented page from redirecting to another page
Many thanks for the tip. I noticed the disclaimer -- " (If you don’t know, Mozilla removes the hidden preference and the old code after feature has been used for some time)." -- so I guess I'll have to decide which works better for me soon.Reflective wrote:Reinstating the old prefs UI should fix that problem (hopefully): http://techdows.com/2017/09/disable-new ... ox-56.html

Re: Firefox prevented page from redirecting to another page
It might be best to get used to the new Preferences, though - better for OPs and better for forum contributors.
Easier for all concerned - at least that way we'll all know where to look when we're being told to check certain settings in 'Preferences'.
It's a pain in the toosh, all these changes, but we'll just have to live with it, I'm afraid.

browser.preferences.useOldOrganization is gone in Firefox 57+ since the code for in-content-old has been removed.

Re: Firefox prevented page from redirecting to another page
Once upon a time Firefox was a fully customizable browser which everyone could adapt to their own taste. Mozilla however has other ideas and what we'll have pretty soon will be just another Chrome clone complete with intrusive data collection into the bargain: https://www.ghacks.net/2017/10/06/mozil ... ollecting/
