Firefox 56 will not close and often crashes

Post by LtlBearUID »

I am running Firefox 56 (64bit) on a Windows 10 machine. Since updating to Firefox 56, the browser has constant problems. When I close Firefox, it will not completely close. I have to open up task manager and kill it there. Even if I start FF in safe mode, i experience the same problem. Many times I see the Mozilla crash report come up after closing FF. Any ideas on how to fix this?

What Anti Virus and or security programs are you using?

If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I did run a few tests and it did not crash on a new profile. I did not get a chance to try and rebuild my profile. However, this last update to Firefox fixed the problem.
