Wrong favicon for about:preferences bookmark

Post by manto »

I bookmarked about:preferences#privacy and somehow the favicon changed from Firefox's gear favicon (the one used for Tools > Options) to another website's favicon. How do I change it back? That isn't a webpage and doesn't appear in my history/cache, so standard solutions involving wrong favicons don't apply here.

I bookmarked the page and it just used the standard Globe icon that gets used for a site that doesn't have a favicon.

.
FWIW about:preferences#privacy shows a globe icon in the bookmarks and a gear on the tab.

You will probably have to use the SQLite Manager extension to remove this wrong favicon.

Oh joy, I hoping I could fix it directly within Firefox without installing or learning anything new, but oh well. Thanks, I'll give it a shot.

manto, if you are going to use that SQL extension you better hurry as it will be dead in FF57.
