RSS: Can it be a resource hog?
I had some bad experiences with Opera Mail so I'm trying out Thunderbird. So far so good. Opera Mail had a weird quirk where it would basically freeze until it had finished updated it RSS feeds. Does that make sense? Do RSS readers typically gobble up a lot of resources just updating a bunch of text messages? Do all RSS readers exhibit this behavior?

Most users do not see any problems. But Thunderbird can also be resource intensive when updating feeds, particularly at startup. Recently some of those issues have been fixed and should be available in the beta found at http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/

You wouldn't think that updating a feed would be so difficult. Just a bunch of text messages. Weird.
Hey, does anyone know how to set it up so my signature is never attached but I'm always notified when a reply is posted? It keeps on asking me the same questions and never remembers what I last did. Software Amnesia I believe.
