Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Try clearing the cache and the history.

Seems to be snappier in safe mode.DanRaisch wrote:Does the same thing occur if you launch the application in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

When things work properly in Safe Mode but not in Standard Mode it often indicates that an installed extension is causing problems. Try disabling all extensions but one and then close and restart the program. (Disable them by using menu path Tools->Addons->Extensions->click on "Disable" for every extension but one.) See if the problem is present. If not, enable an additional extension and close and restart the application. Repeat this procedure until the problem reappears. The last enabled extension will be the cause of the problem.

Hi,
What & how many extensions are you running?
Tried disabling all of them & adding each one back after testing.
Restarting SM each time.

First step is to uninstall Javascript debugger. It's dead and doesn't work in current SeaMonkey for some years now.

2.48 crashing on mac is a known problem. Does it for some but not all and only in newer versions. No workaround and noted in the release notes
Fixed in 2.49.1. You can try candidate 4 if you want a newer version:
https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonk ... es/build4/
Might not be the final if ewong finds another config snafu but the source is cooked since candidate 2 and no changes planned. So if there is a bug in it it will be in the final version too. Overall should be much better than 2.48. When the final comes out please install it over this one manually.
Back up your profile. This is a release candidate and not beta software. It should work but will upgrade the profile so you will have problems going back to a previous problem.

Addons Manager (CTRL+Shift+A).
Fire 750, bring back 250.
