No sound when download completed - help appreciated please

Post by madmudmob »

For the last week I can not get a sound to play when a download is complete.

I have tried with Modern Download Manager, Download Manager (S3) and the one I have used for years with no issue up until now Download Statusbar. Each plays the sound in the settings but not when downloading a pic completes. I have tried numerous sounds both wav and mp3.

I have done the usual of clearing cache and cookies etc; uninstalled the add-on then reinstalled etc.

So, I'm wondering if there is some about:configery I should alter or anything else I should be doing to 'mend' this please?

As a test, create a new Profile.
Install your extension.
Download a file.

Sound?
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Disable all other extensions except for your download extension.

Sound?
(If not, not sure what to suggest after that.)
Fire 750, bring back 250.

I should have added to the first post that I have tried disabling add-ons a few at a time to see if there was a conflict. When I disabled Favicon Changer the sound worked twice but no more ..... the same happened with each of my extensions after that.

Disabled all but the Download Manager but no joy. Cleared the cache and cookies while they were like that and restarted but still no joy.

Thankyou for trying to help .... much appreciated.

If you can get it to work in a new profile, but not the old, just use the new profile and migrate the important stuff from the old profile to the new.
