Works fine for me as well on openSUSE Tumbleweed (with Webrender enabled).

Works fine here once I turned webrender on. Any ideas why? :?:

layout.display-list.retain is much more usable in today's Nightly!

Interestingly enabling WebRender does seem to make retained layers work without crashing on, say, Facebook. It's pretty interesting.
Cheers!

Search webrenderer in about:config, there're 7 related items, is it enough to only set gfx.webrendest.enabled to true?

Edit: No, it didn't seem to work correctly with Mac OS build.

Set these 3 to true:

gfx.webrendest.enabled Was removed in a recent build.
gfx.webrender.enabled
gfx.webrender.blob-images

I read somewhere that you should also disable 'layers.async-pan-zoom.enabled'. Also you might want to disable 'extensions.webextensions.remote'. Seems that WE add-on icons will produce an empty menu box if you keep the pref enabled.

I set all these prefs to get WR and also set 'layout.display-list.retain' to true. I didn't crash but Google Maps was missing most of the map. Otherwise things are much. much better day by day.

**** I'm on the latest inbound and just noticed that the pref 'gfx.webrendest.enabled' is no longer there.

Thanks. Still webrenderer seems not working right with Mac OS.

BTW, current retained list still crash facebook a lot.

It supports APZ now, you can keep that one enabled.

Just tried webrenderer on with list retained enabled, with both the facebook stopped crashing. Just the scrolling of screen became weirdly slow and tearing.
