Very Bizarre Behavior

Post by RabbitsVine »

Hello, nice to meet everyone,

Firefox kept slowing down the longer it was on so I reinstalled it and deleted my user profile. Start from scratch.

Now it's even worse. Whenever I close the browser, all my bookmarks are deleted. I can't restore bookmarks without running a places.sqlite database repair add-on every time.

I rebooted my computer and now all the add-ons were deleted too and the options returned to default.

Help please.

That sounds like a Windows permissions issue or security software messing with the Firefox profile. You're not running anything like Ccleaner ( ), are you?

Yes, I am. I've never had any problem like this before. What should I do?

Set Ccleaner to never touch anything at all to do with Firefox (or Thunderbird or SeaMonkey, if you use those) as it has a bad habit of "breaking" the user profiles.
