How to define account creation default options?

Post by thoste »

Whenever I create a new account a lot of default parameters are assumed.

Some of them I do not prefer. So I always have to change them manually.

Is there a way to define the defaults somewhere?
So I would avoid always having to change them afterwards manually.

In particular I want to change:

- Compose message in HTML format=NO
- Leave messages on server = forever
- Empty trash on exit=Yes

Where are the global, default definitions?

You can set them using the config editor at tools -> options -> advanced -> general. However, they don't always have obvious names like mail.server.default.leave_on_server , mail.server.default.num_days_to_leave_on_server and mail.server.default.empty_trash_on_exit . For example mail.html_compose appears to set the default for composing in HTML. I couldn't find anything about compose message in HTML in mail.server.default .

How about:

* Compose messages in HTML format
* mail.identity.default.compose_html
