Actually Nightlies are much more stable these days. Talk about new toys I run with the latest Inbound as my daily driver. There are times I have to go back a version or two when I run into a major problem. In most cases I need to just wait until Mozilla backs out the offending patch. If the problem persists I file a bug report. That's what it is all about being on the bleeding edge.

Maybe I exercise different parts of Firefox because I had problems last summer with Nightly that got me back on Chrome for almost 3 weeks (I had a bug open for that), and since October 25 under some circumstances parts of Facebook are whited out unless, sometimes, one hovers the mouse pointer over the hidden content (and, yes, a bug is currently open for this, too, complete with a regression run).

Anyone know what's up with Nightly builds ? There was none last night (user cancel) and so far this morning none has been kicked off either from I see on treeherder.

My last Nightly is Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:58.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/58.0 ID:20171030103605 which was installed around 5 PM EST yesterday.

No second 20171030 Nightly for me.

Quick question, I was testing nightly just now with webrender being enabled. Is it normal for firefox top right "minimize, maximize, close" button to disappear after enabling webrender?

WebRender is really usable now on win64. Great progress over the last few weeks!
Scrolling with APZ is mostly smooth now, no permanent crashes or rendering errors, performance is good. On some sites you notice a huge increase in rendering performance with up to half of my R9 390 being used. Maybe it really can be activated in Nightly 59 :)
Text still seems rather blurry on my 4k display with 150% windows scaling though.

Exciting times ahead... :)

I think the answer is No trunk nightlies scheduled today due to decision task failure.

I hope that gets resolved soon; my viewing non-viewing of Facebook groups is affected by a bug that should be landing in Nightly soon.

I'm trying to test Webrender, so I switched the following about:config entries :

Code: Select all

layers.async-pan-zoom.enabled --> false
gfx.webrender.enabled --> true
gfx.webrender.blob-images --> true
I restarted the browser and now it keeps insta-crashing upon browser start.

All crash report look exactly the same, except for the Crash Reason, which sometimes is EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ or else EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE

You don't have to deactivate APZ anymore.
