Memory Hog

Post by Gauteng »

Hi Sorry I am no technical genius, but lately, my firefox constantly freezes, crashes " not responding" ect ect. I have tried the memory thing that does not work over the last 6 months I seem to get this no matter what PC I use. I am very close to just uninstalling it across all my pcs

Is there anything I can do to stop this abject failure as I really do like Firefox

I have tried the memory thing
I have no idea what that is referring to.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Mozilla Safe Mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode
If no improvement using Safe Mode, do you have the same problem if you create a new profile and test it with no extensions or non-default themes installed?

Troubleshoot and diagnose Firefox problems
Most problems with Firefox can be fixed by following the troubleshooting methods described below. Try these steps in order.

Mozilla Crash Reporter
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mo ... sh-reports
The Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog box appears when Firefox closes unexpectedly and lets you submit a crash report to developers, to make future Firefox versions crash less often. This article describes how it works and shows you how to access your crash reports.
