Re: popstate-1.dat
popstate.dat is a file used by a POP account to keep track of which of its messages have been downloaded so that they don't get downloaded again. popstate-1.dat sounds like a second copy was created due to some hiccup. Any with a numeric suffix will be ignored.

I think I tried to delete it & it wouldn't delete. So does this mean it's there permanently?tanstaafl wrote:popstate.dat is a file used by a POP account to keep track of which of its messages have been downloaded so that they don't get downloaded again. popstate-1.dat sounds like a second copy was created due to some hiccup. Was Thunderbird closed when you tried to delete that file using Windows Explorer?
