No Login possible

Post by jerrykde »

When I click 'Login' in 'https://www.payback.de' I get a page with the title 'Login' on the left half but no input masks for user name and password.
I have the latest FF, tried Safe Mode, checked Noscript options, no changes.
It used to work before, I am not quite sure when the problem started, as far as I remember either with FF v56 or one of the latest Win 7 X64 updates, because I suspect it could also be caused by Win.
Trying on older Windows Internet Explorer works all right.
Any idea or a solution appreciated.

It may very well be the page, shows 14 Errors in W3C validator and 8 warnings.
The warning have to do with the page not being mapable to xml 1.0.

I already had contacted the owner of the site and they denied any problems with their source... How did you find out about the problems/warnings you mentioned?

You can confirm the figures Grumpus reported using the W3C HTML Validator -- http://validator.w3.org/unicorn/check?u ... onformance#

To mirror what Dan posted I placed the url from your post in the W3C Validator using verbose output.

Looks like you're blocking JavaScript.
Do you have an extension that does that?
If not, check the value of the Pref, javascript.enabled. It should be set to 'true'.
And if not that, then try, Safe Mode.

As a test, create a new, clean Profile, & load the site.
Does that work?

The only thing I can spot is that the site needs both localstorage and IndexedDB to be enabled. So, that's dom.storage.enabled and dom.indexedDB.enabled both set to true.

Thanks a lot, Ben, that did it. dom.indexedDB was set to false, changing it did the trick. Tks again

After my last post I now get the login site but entering uid and password does nothing. The red login bar is reactive when the cursor in over it but pressing it results in no reply... Next stage of confusion.

Please try Safe Mode again, now that you are getting to the login site.

Too late.. upgrading to FF57 corrected the problem. So if it was caused by an addon I can't prove that now. But anyway, the problem has gone away.
