Think for yourself. Otherwise you have to believe what other people tell you.

Thanks.Trox wrote:Hello menuhin, I just checked after getting FF57 updated, and my Session Manager data is still there (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[someToken].default\sessions).
I checked again and these files are in my other hard drive partition (i.e. the OS and Programs' C: instead of Users' D:)
Please, implement Session Manager in FF57. It is basically almost the only extension I have to use.

For my is true the is a very important thing missing.
But I've to say with a pretty normal CPU with many cores (AMD fx8320) and an huge session ( 900 tabs) on FF57 the improvement is amazing like day and night, It's seems to me they did a great job. I hope they'll implement the needed APIs.
ps. I understand the author, if I would do session manager without the main features (loaded tab most of all) most people would blame him giving him 1 star, so why he should?

Dear Morac,
Hello, I have been using your beautiful plugin for a long time. However, now I can not do it, because the Firefox Quantum does not support the current version (0.8.1.13) of the Session Manager. Could you fix it, please?
Thank you for your work.
Yours faithfully,
Hiruba.

Is there a way to open the .session files outside Firefox? Obviously I tried notepad but the result is not human readable.

You can open a .session file in Notepad and read the URLs to all the tabs that were open in that session. Yes, there is a LOT of garbage when you open it in Notepad, but it is possible to read the URLs. Notice the yahoo link in red below:
{"windows":[{"tabs":[{"entries":[{"url":"http://my.yahoo.com/","title":"My Yahoo!","ID":0,"docshellID":5,"docIdentifier":0,"children":[{"url":"javascript:false","ID":2,"docshellID":11,"owner_b64":"CbflmEkNQj

does Session Manager work in Waterfox? I have SM v 0.8.1.13 loaded but do not see the Session Manager icon in my Waterfox toolbar.
In Session Manger Options, I have set the following:
unchecked - Display Session Manager menu items in submenu
unchecked - Do not display Session Manager menu in tools menu
checked - Show icon in tools menu
unchecked - do not color toolbar button when sessions loaded
