Re: SeaMonkey 2.49.1 released
As far as the theming issues go, I found one in the messaging. The message compose window did not work. There is a new stylesheet in the default theme which is not in third party themes: messageQuotes.css. If one extracts that from omni.ja and adds it into the messenger folder in the theme installer, that will fix the problem.

Re: SeaMonkey 2.49.1 released
Yes, that was mentioned in the release notes:
Thanks for providing a workaround. Eventually, 3rd-party themes will have to be updated by their authors...
- Quotes are now colored differently in Mails up to 5 levels deep depending on your OS. See bug 1374708. This may break custom themes for email composition because a new style sheet named "messageQuotes.css" has been added.

Most will, but mine appear to be OK.rsx11m wrote:Eventually, 3rd-party themes will have to be updated by their authors...
(not that surprising these were derived from my Firefox ones, which I wrote to flex and adjust automatically to constant major Firefox changes, let alone minor ones like this.)

Note that the behavior is different for "Save Image As..." and clicking a (download) link & saving an object (which does not seem to be affected by this bug).Pav78 wrote:now when I am in a web page and right click on a photo and select "save image:, before the save occurs, my default save location folder opens and I have to click the save box to complete the save. I Don't have the "ask me where to save" box enabled in preferences.

Re: SeaMonkey 2.49.1 released
Just my anecdotal experience after 10 days of using new version:
2.49.1/Linux starts to really slow down in JS heavy pages such as Gmail after about a day or two, to the point of being unusable. After switching back and forth between 2.48 and 2.49.1, I observed that 2.49.1 uses about 2.5GB of memory after an hour or two vs 1.7GB of memory for 2.48 with the same set of tabs over 3 windows. All of that with the same profile (obviously). The only difference is the version of the browser and also 2.49.1 is 64bit while 2.48 is 32bit. Not sure what is the symptom and what is the cause here, and how to produce a simple test case from all this.

Do you use a script and adblocker? If not do. Google, amazon. ebay and most web pages now pull in javascript from x domains. After a few hours use ram does not get freed and the browser slows down. Probably nothing in SeaMonkey but a Gecko problem.

I use both uBlock Origin and uMatrix. But it doesn't explain why there is no slowdown in 2.48/32bit. And the big difference in RAM usage.

Nay, it's the system that is 64-bit, Seamonkey itself is 32-bit: Linux i686 on x86_64. Also:
seamonkey-bin: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386
What's the reason you are still using 2.46?

Re: SeaMonkey 2.49.1 released
I rarely see 64-bit Linux users using 32-bit Firefox or SeaMonkey here that I missed that.
I use 2.46 for this forum and sumo, 2.48 had some glitches and 2.49.1 needs GTK3 themes in use and have not found as good ones as the custom black GTK2 theme I use.
SeaMonkey 2.48 and previous Release was available as 64-bit on Linux also just that it was en-US only.

Re: SeaMonkey 2.49.1 released
I didn't know there was a 64-bit 2.48 build, thanks. I'll try it.
Your link is 404 though, the correct link: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonk ... 8/contrib/

Any reason we're there instead of 2.49.1, https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonk ... 1/contrib/ ?

Re: SeaMonkey 2.49.1 released
The 64-bit Linux build of SeaMonkey 2.49.1 is actually available in https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/seamonk ... ux-x86_64/ however it is still only en-US.
My point was 64-bit Linux Releases did exist including for SeaMonkey 2.48 as one did not have to do some work to get 32-bit version working on 64-bit Linux.
