I have a short list of text strings I'd like to assign to otherwise unused keyboard shortcuts within Firefox. For example, I could use such a shortcut to paste in my email address on forms where there's no previously stored value, or the field doesn't support form history.
I searched for 'keyboard shortcut' extensions but best I can tell, the ones I found are all about reassigning Firefox's built-in shortcuts and creating custom shortcuts for menu actions. Many years ago I had a keyboard that came with TSR software (remember those?) that could remap keys or store text string shortcuts. But it seems like this could be done from within a browser for use on web forms. Does anyone know of an extension or other way to do this?
