Firefox 57.0.1 x64 Crashes instantly

Post by Enzymhemmer »

Hello,

i am running Firefox on all my Computers at my Company and after they upgrade to 57.0.1 the x64 versions Crash after 2-5 seconds. It is only 57.0.1 and it seems to be only the 64-Bit Version. It is Happening on so many machines that i can safely rule out a PC-Client-Problem. It could be a Server or Network Thing but i am at a loss what could have provoked such a Problem.

Are you having any experience with that issue? I cannot seem to find anything about it on the Internet ... :?

P.S.: I am using the german verson of Firefox. Not sure if that matters but i just thought of it.

Can you start FF in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode ?
If so, about:crashes, the last few related crash report URLs?

Try the en-US version. You never know when a locale issue might crop up.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

Safe Mode does not work. It is the same behaviour. I can reproduce it even on completely new profiles.

Created a new Windows Profile, started up Firefox and let it update to v57. (The machine was not on for the last 1-2 weeks) Firefox works fine! We upgrade to v57.0.1 and Firefox instantly crashes after restart and keeps crashing.

Is here anyone using the FF v57.0.1 in the 64-Bit version?

I could try the en-US version but it would not help me. I am fine with english but not my colleagues. #-o

thanks for the help so far.

Yes, I'm running Firefox 57.0.1 under Windows 10 and not seeing any crashes at all.
What security software are you running on those systems?

I could try the en-US version but it would not help
It could help - for testing purposes, en vs de.

For testing purpose i could try it. But i already know that the x86 version is working fine. It is only the x64 version that crashes.

Instead of continuing to speculate could you post some of your links to the crash-reports Please ?

In the address/URL bar enter: about:crashes
right-click and use: Copy Link Location...
Paste that link back into this thread... maybe we can see whats leading to your crashes.

(You can run FF 56 [in a separate Profile], or whatever version, if need be to ensure that your crashes [about:crashes] were actually sent, & to obtain the crash report URLs.)
