I was using FF 52.0.5 ESR 32bit. I downloaded and installed FF 57.0.1 64 bit and reused the profile I had used under FF 52.0.5 ESR 32bit.
Question: If I uninstall the old FF 52.0.5 ESR 32bit, will the old profile location - now being used by FF 57.0.1 64 bit - be erased?
Uninstall FF and my profile is deleted?

The Profiles are separate from Firefox installs as they are not in the Firefox program folders. The Fx 57.0.1 made use of the Profile since it was last one used and because you did not select otherwise with ProfileManager or starting with a specific Profile. If you do ever use the ProfileManager make sure Firefox is completely closed first.

Re: Uninstall FF and my profile is deleted?
Shouldn't be deleted. There was an option (which needed to be selected by the user) for deleting all traces of the Profile folders in the uninstall routine from Firefox 3.0 on, but that was removed somewhat recently. Not sure exactly when (the version number) it disappeared, but just don't use it if you see it - uninstall always defaulted to leaving it alone.Bennyd wrote:

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine has wandered off and I'm out looking for it.
