Mail Server not working
when I updated Mozilla Thunderbird to version 52.5 my Mail Servers stopped working; I could get NO email ! nothing I did to fix it worked.... so I had to uninstall it and roll back to version 52.4; now my Mail servers are working again; Think twice before updating to the newest version of Mozilla Thunderbird !

Re: Mail Server not working
Thunderbird 52.5.0 works fine. The problem is more likely security software that didn't recognize the update as the same program and blocked it's access to the web. What firewall and/or anti-virus is running on that system?Think twice before updating to the newest version of Mozilla Thunderbird !

No issues with the firewall; been running Norton Internet Security more than 10 years; this is the second time in less 12 months when a Thunderbird update screwed up my Email Servers

Re: Mail Server not working
Just how did Thunderbird "screw up" your mail servers? Are the settings in Thunderbird changed from what they were before the update?
Norton has been reported on these forum for blocking updated software like Thunderbird or Firefox until the user takes action. Try closing Thunderbird, reviewing Norton's permissions list and removing all references to Thunderbird from that list. Reboot the computer and launch Thunderbird to see if it can access your email.

I believe if you search these forums you'll find that has not always been the case for other users of the two programs. On what basis do you make that absolute claim?there are no issues with Norton Internet Security

Re: Mail Server not working
My Thunderbird quit working last night. I am running a MAC 10.13.1 and have Thunderbird 52.5.0 Nothing I have tried will work. Is there a way to change your password, that seems to be what it is looking for.

Re: Mail Server not working
Go to Thunderbird >Preferences->SECURITY > PASSWORDS tab> SAVED PASSWORDS button and there you can delete old passwords. Restart Thunderbird to ensure that the stored password is cleared from memory. The next time you "Get Mail" Thunderbird will ask for the password and you can check the box to remember the value.

Re: Mail Server not working
Inpressive, but unless you have tested with Norton completely out of the picture, not convincing.
