When I run a search in the Quick Search box (with "Search all messages" option), I do not get any hits from my Trash folder. Likewise, if I choose "Show in conversation" for a given messages, all messages *Except* those in the Trash appear.
It would seem that the Trash is being explicitly omitted from search results. Is there any way to modify this behavior?
What I want i that all messages, including items in the Trash, appear in Search results.
Thanks,

3.0 Beta 4 (sorry, I should have mentioned that). I'm also using IMAP though I'm not sure if that would make a diff since it finds the items in Sent and Inbox on IMAP server.

Moving to Thunderbird Builds where pre-release versions are discussed.

I checked and this is occurring in RC3 builds as well. Seems like its intentional but it would be nice if there was a way to configure it otherwise.

Re: No messages from Trash folder showing up in Search Resul
There hasn't been any further discussion on the issue in 8 years so it's not clear that it is generally experienced issue. If you are having problems of this sort you should start a new topic and provide details (including what version of Thunderbird you are running) rather than resurrecting this old chestnut. Note that the OP was running version 3.0 Beta 4 while the current release version is 52.5.0
