Another Tab Row Issue

Post by candidcactus »

I just updated from v48 to v57. I clicked v56, but Mozilla ignored my request and installed 57 instead (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/releases/). Trying to instakk earlier versions I get the same result. I get 57.
My livelihood depends on multiple rows of tabs. I need to go back to where I can have them, and have already lost significant money today.
I'm hoping to be able to install to install Tab Mix Plus and use Session Manager to restore a previous session. Any guidance on how to go about that?

Backup first.
Disable updates.
Then try to insure that you don't get updated again.
(Globally Disable FF Update - System-wide or http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=14784566#p14784566
If you want 56.0.2, then http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/56.0.2/.

You might want to consider one of the Firefox forks like Basilisk which is based on FF55 or Waterfox which is based on FF56. Both of these will support legacy extensions indefinitely which means you can install CTR (Classic Theme Restorer) on both of them. You can add as many toolbars as you like using CTR.

Due to forum policy here I'm not allowed to provide you with any links to either of them, but you'll find them both easily enough with any search engine.

Also, you can retain FF57 since both of the others create their own installation directories.

Thanks for that, as I had been wondering what levels they were up to.

("I'm not allowed to provide you with any links", huh, what, but I'll take your word for it.)
