New to Seamonkey, looking for all the equivalent add-ons

Post by MuffinMan123 »

I don't know why, I have the latest version of Seamonkey, and yet the Seamonkey add-on page says the addon's on my must-have list are all incompatible with Seamonkey.

So what are my options for

uBlock Origin (none of the adblocker seems to be compatible with seamonkey at all)
No Script,
download them all
flashgot
download youtube videos as mp4
expire history by days
hide caption title bar (just need something to move the file menu bar to the same place as title bar))
tab counter

I am running seamonkey naked right now, and I find that quite scary.

Not much need to be nervous. With the exception of NoScript, none of those are security extensions.

What version of SeaMonkey?

Older versions of uBlock & NoScript both work.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamon ... ion-1.13.8
https://noscript.net/getit, 5.1.8.3 & 2.9.0.14 both work in SeaMonkey
Current FlashGot does work (& does not yet & won't for the foreseeable future, work in FF 57)
https://flashgot.net/getit
Current downthemall works (& does not yet work in FF 57)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamon ... wnthemall/

The rest I'm not familiar with.
download youtube videos as mp4, I would think you could do just as well with FlashGot, selecting the mp4 variety.
hide caption title bar, not quite sure what you're looking for there, but can you just do it with Customize?

I am running 2.49.1 right now

About the hide caption thing, I want to move the menu bar to the same location as the title bar.

For some reason, newer uBlock Origin releases don't make it to AMO except as a WebExtension.

https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases and grab the one that says "firefox.xpi" instead of "webext.xpi". It definitely still supports Seamonkey.

AMO, now only accepts webextensions.

Also, you can't upload one version of an add-on for Firefox and another version for Thunderbird, unless you give them different names and IDs.

I think you can still upload non-webextensions add-ons as long as they don't target Firefox.

That must come as quite a surprise to the uBlock Origin extension in my SeaMonkey then. You want version 1.13.8 or 1.13.10 and, unsurprisingly, you get them here -

Hi MuffinMan123, not sure if this addresses your problem, but in case -- I recently borrowed a laptop and put a fresh install of SeaMonkey on it, and was dismayed to discover that I couldn't seem to add very many -- if any -- extensions to it! LemonJuice's converter didn't work, either -- it just told me that an RDF file was missing, or the like.

However, this add-on, AMO Browsing for SeaMonkey, which I found referenced in another thread here, solved the problem entirely. It enabled me to browse SeaMonkey Add-Ons normally again, and even allowed me to install some Complete Themes that I'd given up on long ago. Maybe this will help you also? Best of luck.

Ah, of course. Never mind that they support more than just Firefox. Business as usual, I suppose.

I am using uBlock Origin version 1.14.22, which I got from here: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
I download the file uBlock0.firefox.xpi.
