(Resolved) Meet the press problem

Post by kevs1 »

This show says there is some add on preventing advertising. I entered safe mode and the show worked fine.

But I now only have 3 add ons and tested all 3, disabled them and that did not help so I'm stumped.

Meet the press problem
How about posting a link to the problem show...

Also, you might want to change the title of your post to include MAC just in case it's a mac issue of some sort.

Maybe its a cookie issue?
Blocking 3rd party cookies?

As a test, create a new, clean Profile & verify that that works.
Fire 750, bring back 250.

* The default theme is used, without a persona. --- * The default toolbar layout is used.
* The Just-in-time (JIT) JavaScript compiler is disabled. --- * Hardware acceleration is disabled.

Posting a screenshot of the problem is not what we asked for. It would help if you posted the URL to the specific site/page where you are seeing the problem you are here about. That way we can see what happens when we visit the same web location.

Not necessarily so. Firefox (the program) is half of the equation. The other half is the data in the profile and that changes from machine to machine as the user installs extensions, updates extensions, removes extensions, changes configuration settings, and maintains plug-ins (think Flash player or other video helpers). If the profiles on the desktop and laptop have differences it could account for things working on the desktop and not on the laptop.

You could try creating a new profile on the laptop and then copying over all of the files from the desktop profile to that new profile the laptop to see if that resolves things for you. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_ ... _-_Firefox

Actually, it might actually be more appropriate to say that Firefox and the profile together are a bit more than half of the equation. Let's not forget that a laptop will have different video hardware, different video drivers, and possibly different operating systems or different update levels of the OS and together that's the other half.

.
It would not work in my "normal" profile but did in my "blank" test profile on Mac.

I looked through the preferences and found

Privacy & Protection > Tracking Protection > Always

for my normal profile where it would not work.

In the other blank test profile

Privacy & Protection > Tracking Protection > Never

where it worked. That could cause certain ad(s) to be blocked.
