NPR does not load correctly

When I go to https://www.npr.org/2018/01/03/57528856 ... l-the-void or any other NPR page, I get text but no HTML.

This happens with some other sites but I can't recall which one(s) right now.

Any explanations or suggestions for correcting this anomaly?

Clear cache & cookies?
Try Safe Mode?
Check, View | Use Style, make sure it is not set to 'None'.
