Remove duplicates (mail messages) for seamonkey

I would very much like to be able to use the "remove duplicates add-on" with seamonkey 2.49

I tried the addons converter, which allowed it to be installed, but it still would not work ie it displays its interface, but it does not find any duplicates

Anyone have any ideas how this could be made to work, or other ways to delete numerous duplicate messages from Seamonkey mail folders
